Florham Park Counseling is proud to introduce a new referral for parents who are interested in gaining tools and strategies to help them along in their parenting journey. If you are feeling overwhelmed while parenting, having a consult with her can help ease some of that stress.
One of the first goals I often hear when couples start counseling is: I want it to be like it was before. When we fell in love. We were like one person. All we wanted to do was be together. I don’t want her to go out by herself. She should want to be only with me.
If you want your relationship to last, you DON'T always have to be right. It's like the game of tug of war. Whoever wins, loses. The person who loses looks up at the person holding the rope and resents the winner for making them fall. Instead, try to understand your partner. Why does he or she think that? Practice looking at things between you with an open mind and heart.
Are you still in shock over the discovery that your spouse or partner has cheated on you? Feeling alone, hopeless, anxious or depressed? Thinking no one can understand what you’re going through? Come join a support group of others who do understand. Give and get coping mechanisms and a feeling of community with others in your situation.
Sexual problems at the root of it all are rarely discussed, since each partner blames the other for the problem, or they blame themselves.
